FORNWALT LIVESTOCK COMPANY
HARMONY AND SUSTAINABILITY
With a fundamental whole horse approach based in biomechanics and balance, our training and development program prioritizes harmony and lightness between horse and rider through balance, communication, respect, and partnership.
Our approach stems primarily from a combination of classical dressage, Spanish Doma Vaquera traditions, and working Bridlehorse applications. In our decades of study, we believe the Art of classical dressage, specifically within the French framework, to be unequivocally the pinnacle of true horsemanship, from which all modern horsemanship is derived.
Horsemanship should be approached as an expressive Art- a dance, rather than a linear mechanical process rooted in submission. We place firm emphasis on stewardship and stockmanship, and take immense pride in developing soft, confident, curious, and effective equine partnerships that can achieve success in any discipline or line of work.
To achieve lightness, trust, and willingness, we must first offer clarity and support- presented through patience, understanding, and humility. An upper level horse of any discipline must first and foremost find relaxation and joy in partnership.
